The honour will be presented on August 2, 2026, at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal during a ceremony organised by KKFC India Music Academy in association with the Madhya Pradesh Department of Culture. The award marks another significant milestone in Ishita Vishwakarma’s musical journey and celebrates her remarkable achievements as one of Madhya Pradesh’s most promising young singers.
About the Kishore Award 2026
The National Kishor Kumar Award, also known as the Kishore Kumar Samman, is a prestigious honour presented by the Government of Madhya Pradesh to celebrate outstanding achievements in Indian cinema, spanning fields like lyric writing, acting, screenplay, and direction. Instituted to honor the legacy of the versatile artist Kishore Kumar, he award is presented annually in his hometown and birthplace of Khandwa. The recipients are selected by the state’s Culture Department, and the honor carries a cash prize of ₹5 lakh, a plaque, and a shawl-shriphal.
In this coveted award past recipients include cinema legends such as Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar, Manoj Kumar, and Dharmendra. For recent editions of the award, distinguished lyricist Prasoon Joshi was honored, followed by acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
