Prime Minister Narendra Modi will disburse ₹2,400 crore worth of incentives under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) to over 15 lakh beneficiaries on Friday, June 19, 2026 . The funds will be transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) at a special event at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi .
Scheme Overview
Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that the Prime Minister will also interact with first-time employees and employers benefiting from the scheme . The event will be simulcast across 200 industrial clusters nationwide, attended by Governors, Chief Ministers, and other dignitaries .
Incentive Structure
The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana, launched in August 2025, offers substantial benefits to both job creators and new entrants to the workforce :
- First-time employees are eligible to receive up to ₹15,000, providing critical financial support as they enter the workforce .
- Employers can receive up to ₹3,000 per month for each additional employee, encouraging sustained job creation .
- Manufacturing sector employers are eligible for incentives for four years, while employers in other sectors can avail benefits for two years .
Impact and Achievements
Since its inception, the scheme has brought more than 63 lakh first-time employees into the formal workforce, of which nearly 30% are women . Notably, over 80% of incentivised establishments are small enterprises employing fewer than 25 workers, highlighting the scheme’s support for small businesses .
With a total outlay of ₹99,446 crore, PM-VBRY is designed to create 3.5 crore jobs over two years, including approximately 1.92 crore first-time entrants to the workforce . The scheme aims to accelerate job creation, promote formalisation of employment, and expand social security coverage across sectors .
