The announcement, made on August 3, puts an end to months of speculation about the actor’s 64th project, which will be produced by his wife and former actor Shalini Ajith Kumar, marking her maiden production venture. The news was shared by Ajith’s manager Suresh Chandraa on his X handle, confirming that the film’s title has been locked as Dare Devil.

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander will return to score the music for the project, marking his fourth collaboration with the star, following Vidaamuyarchi and other previous films. Ajith’s last film, Good Bad Ugly, was also directed by Adhik Ravichandran and released in April 2025. The action drama, which followed a retired gangster forced to return to his violent past, was praised for its fan service and Ajith’s “unhinged” performance. The Hindu’s review described it as “possibly the best fan service Tamil cinema has ever seen,” noting that even with its imperfections, the film was a “loving work of nostalgia.” With Dare Devil now officially on the cards, fans are eagerly awaiting more updates on this high-profile collaboration.
