Los Angeles: Apple Original Films has unveiled the title and release date of its upcoming documentary on legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac. Titled Fleetwood Mac: The Chain, the film will make its global debut on Apple TV on Friday, January 29, 2027, the streamer announced.
The Team Behind It
The documentary is directed by five-time Academy Award nominee Frank Marshall and produced by The Kennedy/Marshall Company and White Horse Pictures.
As per a press release, the film “offers a definitive and unprecedented look at Fleetwood Mac’s story, bringing together voices, memories and perspectives of band members Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.”
What to Expect
It will feature how the band came together in 1974 and include “never-before-seen footage and exclusive new interviews.”
The film’s title reflects the significance of Fleetwood Mac’s hit ‘The Chain’, which is the only song on their album Rumours credited to all five members. The film’s premiere coincides with the 50th anniversary of the release of the Grammy award-winning album.
Production Credits
Cassidy Hartmann executive produces the film with Kennedy/Marshall’s Tony Rosenthal. Diamond Docs’ Mark Monroe serves as writer and executive producer.
