The fresh investment came from venture capitalist Lachy Groom.

According to founder and CEO Anjali Sardana, Pronto’s bookings have jumped from around 3,000 a day at the beginning of December to more than 26,000 bookings daily now.

She said the company has been increasing supply quickly, but demand is still growing faster.

She added that the startup remains well-funded for the next one to two years. Sardana also said discounting is likely to continue for a long period because of strong competition and the need to build customer habits.
