Gurugram Man Battling Depression Jumps From 23rd Floor With Two-Year-Old Daughter

GURUGRAM: In a heart-wrenching incident that has sent shockwaves through the city, a 38-year-old man allegedly jumped to his death from the 23rd floor of a high-rise residential society on Tuesday morning, holding his two-year-old daughter in his arms.

The deceased, identified as Rahul, was a resident of Delhi who had been living on rent with his family in the ‘Joy Ville’ residential complex in Sector 102, near the Dwarka Expressway. He ran a school in Delhi’s Kirari area along with his wife, catering to students up to Class 5.

The Incident

Police received information around 8 AM on March 17 about a man jumping from a multi-storey building. When officers reached the spot, both Rahul and his young daughter were found dead.

According to officials, although Rahul lived in Tower 9 of the society, he jumped from the 23rd floor of Tower 5 with his daughter. No suicide note was recovered from the scene.

Police spokesperson Ashok Kumar confirmed that Rahul had been dealing with serious health and mental problems for some time. “Rahul’s mental distress appears to have been the reason behind this tragic act. We are continuing a detailed investigation to confirm all circumstances surrounding the case,” he stated.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem and later handed over to the family.
