Mumbai, India – The trailer for Emraan Hashmi’s much-anticipated action-thriller, Awarapan 2, was unveiled on Thursday, promising a darker, vengeance-fueled sequel to the 2007 cult classic. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film features Emraan reprising his iconic role as Shivam, alongside Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, and Vijayant Kohli in pivotal roles. The one-minute-twenty-five-second trailer offers a glimpse into the film’s intense and gritty tone, with Shabana Azmi’s character appearing to be the formidable antagonist.

The trailer opens with Shivam being tortured in front of Shabana’s character, who remarks, “What a beautiful face. Do you like meeting with death?” Shivam responds, “I have an old relation with death,” setting the stage for a battle of pain and revenge. The rapidly edited visuals showcase Shivam engaging in slick action sequences, beating up goons, and confronting his demons. Disha Patani’s character is briefly seen playing a musical instrument, leaving her role largely under wraps. The film promises to continue the story of Awarapan while following its protagonist’s emotional and physical journey toward retribution.

Written by Bilal Siddiqi and Vishesh Bhatt, Awarapan 2 features music by Mithoon, Jeet Gannguli, Amaal Mallik, Ankit Sachdev, and Wasif Ahmad, with lyrics by Sayeed Quadri, Rashmi Virag, Akhil Sachdeva, and Sachin Urmtosh. Produced by Vishesh Bhatt, the film is set to release in theatres on August 14, where it will clash with Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s Batwara 1947. The original Awarapan, directed by Mohit Suri, became a cult favorite for its intense romantic themes, Emraan’s emotive performance, and Pritam’s electrifying soundtrack, featuring hits like “Toh Phir Aao” and “Maula Maula.” The sequel aims to build on that legacy with a darker, action-packed narrative.
