Kochi, India – Actor Mohanlal’s upcoming film with filmmaker Vishnu Mohan has been officially titled Operation Ganga, the makers announced on Saturday. The film, which also stars Arjun Rampal, Bhagyashri Borse, and Adil Hussain, among others, is based on India’s evacuation mission launched to bring back Indian citizens, including thousands of students, who were stranded in Ukraine following the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war. The Malayalam star shared the announcement with a poster on his Instagram handle, simply captioned, “‘Operation Ganga’.”
The film is produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies. The music is composed by Shashwat Sachdev, with Shameer Mohammed serving as editor and Krishnamoorthy as executive producer. Mohanlal was last seen in Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph, and also starred in Thudakkam. The title announcement has generated significant buzz, as the film’s subject matter—a real-life evacuation mission—promises a gripping and patriotic narrative. With a star-studded cast and a compelling backdrop, Operation Ganga is poised to be one of the most anticipated Malayalam films in the coming months.
