Ranchi, India – Hundreds of students gathered at Ranchi’s Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium on Thursday, demanding a CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities in competitive exams for government jobs. The protest, now in its 13th day, has led to the formation of an 11-member delegation to hold talks with the state government. The delegation, announced by the JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch, comprises eight students, along with one journalist, one person as a guardian, and one legal expert, who will serve as mentors.
The students are demanding a CBI investigation and action against those responsible for alleged paper leaks in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Combined Civil Services Examination and the Jharkhand General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JSSC-CGL). Student leader Ravindra Paswan stated that the delegation is ready for talks, aiming to present the students’ demands and hopes the government will make positive decisions. The Jharkhand Crime Investigation Department (CID) has already arrested 19 people in connection with the case.

The Manch has set strict guidelines for the talks: only student representatives will present facts and demands, with journalists and legal experts barred from making statements. Media personnel are prohibited from bringing recording devices or sound systems into the meeting, which will be conducted peacefully. The students have vowed to continue their agitation until the government takes concrete action. Earlier in the day, AICC Jharkhand In-charge K. Raju expressed the Congress party’s support for the students, thanking the Chief Minister for forming a ministerial committee to consult with the protesters.
